Diagnostic Testing
MTHFR Gene Testing
At the Transformation Health Clinic, we can provide MTHFR gene testing to determine whether your body is adequately converting folates to active 5-MTHFR. Insufficient conversion can lead to a variety of physical and mental health issues, which is why it’s important to get tested before serious problems arise.
Tick Borne Infections including Lyme Disease
Transformation Health Clinic has engaged the services of the Australian Biologics Laboratory that offers Real time PCR technology for the detection and identification of tick-borne diseases such as;
Borrelia (Lyme Disease) and other intracellular pathogens, namely;
-
Chlamydia trachomatis
-
Chlamydophila pneumonia
-
Mycoplasma species
Hair Mineral Analysis
Available at Transformation Health Clinic, this test is safe and non-invasive and measures the level of minerals and toxins stored in the body. It’s perfect for people who wish to know what they might be lacking in their diet or want to take the first steps towards improving their health by gauging their body’s current state of toxicity.
Hair can contain minerals and metals and can accumulate over long periods of time. A wide range of metals and minerals can be measured in one sample to provide status of cellular activity and nutrient metabolism.
Since the structure of hair remains unchanged, the minerals are fixed in the hair and levels in hair do not significantly change once that portion of hair has grown.
Heavy metal toxicity can be caused by exposure to pollution, chemicals and poisons. It is a growing threat to the population as metals deposit in body tissues leading to significant developmental and neurological damage.
Complete Digestive Stool Analysis
The Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA) is an advanced non-invasive diagnostic tool for assessing gastrointestinal function. Fortunately, the test is performed in the privacy of your own home. As the CDSA combines a large number of tests that evaluate the function of the gastrointestinal tract, a comprehensive picture of a patients gut health can be obtained. The analysis investigates digestion, metabolism, pancreatic function, the balance of beneficial bacteria and the presence of pathological bacteria, yeast and parasites.
Iodine Testing
Iodine deficiency is re-emerging in many locations around the world, and is implicated in many serious health conditions. Iodine is an essential mineral required by the body. The thyroid gland is dependent on iodine to synthesize thyroid hormones, thus a major indication of iodine deficiency include hypothyroid symptoms.
Iodine is also required for maintaining healthy breast tissue, and cancer prevention. The mineral has potent antioxidant properties, as well as immune regulating and oestrogen modulating functions.
Research has indicated that severe iodine deficiency has been steadily increasing over the last 20 years; increasing from 2.6% to 11.7%. During pregnancy inadequate iodine levels have been linked to serious implications for maternal and child health. Due to this fact, iodine status is recommended as part of preconception assessment.
DNA Testing
Ever wondered what genetic predispositions you might have and would like to have them confirmed? Now you can with trusted and reliable DNA testing. DNA testing can reveal how your body will uniquely respond to some medicines, what you eat and drink, and how you exercise.
When we look at your DNA analysis test, we will be able to offer a personalised approach to your health. Our aim is to work with your genetic makeup and provide specific nutrients to switch the good ones on and the bad ones off. This may reduce the risk of many of the most common health issues that affect us as we age.
-
Upon getting the results of your DNA testing, your practitioner will recommend a specific nutritional program for you.
-
You will be able to formulate and apply specific preventative long term strategies to improve your health and wellness well into the future.
-
DNA testing will enable you to manage your weight better and better understand your individual dietary requirements.
-
You will be able to find out just how well your body is able to detoxify and learn whether you are a fast or slow metaboliser.
-
It will assess your genes involved in anti-oxidative defence.
-
Inflammation has a key role in chronic diseases. Your inflammatory response will be evaluated to reduce your risk of various diseases.
Liver Detoxification Profile Test
The process of detoxification is one of the chief roles of the liver. It does this via a two-step process designated phase I and phase II. When the function of the liver is suboptimal, toxins can build-up and poison the body. Conditions that may be associated with an imbalance in liver function include autism, chronic fatigue, food intolerances, headaches, multiple chemical sensitivities and rheumatoid arthritis.
Who will this test benefit?
-
Food allergies/sensitivities
-
Multiple chemical sensitivities
-
Chronic fatigue syndrome
-
Leaky gut syndrome, candida, IBS, fructose malabsorption
-
Hormonal imbalance e.g. premenstrual syndrome and menopausal symptoms, endometriosis, PCO/S
-
Regular alcohol or pharmaceutical intake
-
Elevated cholesterol levels or high cardiovascular risk factors
Pyrrole Disorder Testing (Kryptopyrrole)
Pyroluria (also known as pyrrole disorder and Kryptopyrrole, among other names) is characterized by elevated urine kryptopyrrole levels, which result in a dramatic deficiency of zinc and vitamin B6. This disorder is more common in women and the disorder can be genetic and/or triggered by environmental factors such as trauma, illness, prolonged stress, ‘leaky gut syndrome’, and the overuse of antibiotics.
Pyroluria is a factor in several emotional and behavioural disorders, and can manifest in a myriad of ways. It will typically first appear as behavioural abnormalities in children, but can continue into adulthood. Treatment can aid in alleviating some of the symptoms, but the most appropriate form of Kryptopyrrole treatment will depend on it’s root cause.
